Shannon Conley of is a basic science vision researcher from Moore, Oklahoma USA. The goal of her lab is to understand the cellular mechanisms that underlie various vision disorders, in particular age-related macular degeneration and inherited retinal dystrophies.
Age-related macular degeneration begins with death of the retinal pigment epithelium and choriocapillaris, without which the retina cannot survive. Here’s a glimpse of her artwork RPE 3: Age-Related Macular Degeneration
